Our Values | Orange Friends Church

Biblically Faithful – The Bible is our guide and inspiration for faith and practice of that faith. We wish to learn the scripture, live the scripture and teach the scripture as we walk this path with Christ and help others in discipleship. II Timothy 3:14-17

Dependent Prayer- Prayer is the direct line of connection with God. We are created to be in relationship with God and to praise Him. Prayer is essential for the life of a disciple and the vitality of the church. James 5:13-20

Relational Evangelism- We have the privilege of sharing life in Jesus with others. Jesus is love, wholeness and hope. We believe one of the best ways to share Him with others is through existing and new relationships. It is our burden and heart to share with as many as possible what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Matthew 28:18-20

Family Focused- The family is God’s idea. Homes that are places of worship and discipleship are what God has in mind. We believe that we, as the church, should do all we can to support, train and encourage parents, marriages and families to honor God and hand on faith in Christ to the next generation. Acts 16:33, Acts 10:2, I Timothy 3:4-5

Mission Mindset- Caring for others is the heartbeat of God. The “others” are in our own communities and sometimes halfway around the world. We live in a day in age where the world is much smaller. The opportunity to serve and show compassion is clear and present. We have the privilege of showing love to the least, the last and the lost in our world. We are committed to generous service to all. Matthew 25:31-46

Vibrant Worship- We were created to worship God. Our heart is to enter into a worship experience that is vibrant and meaningful. Sometimes this is in silence and sometimes it is in expressive singing before God. No matter the mode of worship, we seek to adore God and proclaim Him Lord of all through an authentic experience! John 4:23-24

Stewardship of Time/Talents/Treasures- To be involved with Orange Friends Church is to be active in serving in a ministry that God has shaped you for as a believer. God has given all followers of Jesus specific spiritual gifts, talents and interest to be used for His glory and to build up the Body of Christ. He also calls us to care for the resources He gave us. Faithful generosity of finances and material possessions is a mark of a true follower of Jesus. I Corinthians 12, II Corinthians 9:7

Small Group Life – Small groups in many different forms, whether it is through Home Groups, Adult Bible Classes, support groups, service groups, etc., are where “church” happens. It is not enough to merely attend on a Sunday morning for worship. Being the church and loving one another happens in the small group setting. This is true community! Being part of Orange Friends Church is to be in relationship with others through small group life! Acts 2:46-47, Hebrews 10:24-25
