BASIC STEPS: THE WALK OF A FOLLOWER OF JESUS (April 15 - June 10, 2012)

What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus? We will spend the next several weeks going over some basics of faith in Jesus Christ. You may be exploring what it means to be a Christ follower, or brand new to this journey, or have walked with Jesus for many years… no matter what your background, experience, or point of growth with Jesus, this sermon series is sure to encourage you and help make clear the basics of faith in Christ. During this series, everyone is encouraged to fully participate by getting a First Steps workbook. These will be available starting Palm Sunday in the café. You can track the sermon using this workbook each week through the personal devotions and lesson content in a small group setting or through one-on-one discipleship.

Week 1	(4/15/12)	Assurance – By trusting Jesus, you will be able to overcome doubt and discouragement.
Week 2	(4/22/12)	Freedom – Freedom is the ability to do what you ought, not the right to do what you want.
Week 3	(4/29/12)	Priorities – God has created you for His purposes. All of your decisions and choices must be focused on seeking first His Kingdom so that you will find out what He has created you for!
Week 4	(5/6/12)	The Bible – By understanding how to use God’s Word, you will be able to overcome temptation!
Week 5	(5/13/12)	Prayer – By learning to pray “specifically”, prayers will be answered!
Week 6	(5/20/12)	Fellowship – A Christian can’t stand alone. Christians are called together, to minister to one another and to a lost world.
Week 7	(5/27/12)	Evangelism – God will use you to tell your friends and family about Jesus so that they will have the opportunity to follow Jesus.
Week 8	(6/3/12)	God’s Will – God has a plan for your life; by following this plan, you will find joy.
Week 9	(6/10/12)	The Soon Return of Jesus – Live with an expectation of the soon return of Jesus.
